The students of three universities in the Philippines showed
on November 18 against an order to show cause filed against 37 members of the
faculty at the University of the Faculty of Law of the Philippines, ABS-CBN
News reported.
Students of the University of the Philippines (UP), La Salle State University and Lyceum of the Philippines marched through campus UP waving banners saying "restore integrity" and "defend academic freedom."
On 20 October 2010, the Supreme Court ordered the 37 professors to explain why they should not be punished for publicly demanding the resignation of Associate Justice Mariano del Castillo for plagiarism accusations.
