IRAN: closed for my activism with no legal recourse

I was once a member of the student association and the Association of Islamic Students of Amirkabir University. I was also the chief executive officer and editor of student publication Rivera for what I wrote articles on culture and politics, critics of the government and in favor of democracy and human rights.

Security forces arrested me in 2007. I was released on bail during the same year and took the entrance exam to graduate. I should add that after my release, I continued my student activism.

In 2008, the results of entrance examinations were published on the internet and I came sixth highest score in the country. In the summer of 2008, officials of the Central Selection Committee contact me. I was told to go to the Office Hera sat.

Abdolrasoul Pour-Abbess, director of the Organization Sandiest, measuring academic agency of the Ministry of Science and professor of mathematics at Amirkabir University, told me that was not a big problem and that representatives of the Office Hera sat wanted to talk to me. I accepted and met.

Offices Hearsay found in most public places and all universities and are representatives of the Ministry of Intelligence and State Security apparatus.

Interrogation

There were three meetings that were really as interrogation sessions with people who claimed to represent the Office of the Ministry of Science Hearsay. Dr Morazán Noorbakhsh, director of the Selection Committee of faculty and students believed that they were agents of Ministry of Intelligence.

In the first two meetings, two men confronted me so hostile and menacing. They wanted me to accept false confessions regarding my student publications and I wanted to send a letter to the judiciary can not deny that I was tortured during his detention.

During the second meeting, which even threatened to stop me. I confirm that I was tortured and I refused to deny it.

At the third meeting, changed its way. They had a comprehensive information about me and became more friendly. They said that if I continued to political activism and I stop talking about my detention and torture should be able to continue my education.

We also offered to collaborate with the Ministry of Intelligence agents and meet on a weekly basis ... they said that if I agreed, I would ensure that it would have no problem to continue my postgraduate studies. I accept finishing my political activities, refused to cooperate with them.

I contacted several Ministry of Science officials and members of Parliament to inform them of these meetings. Noorbakhsh promised that there would be problems. However, when the Ministry of Science announced the names of students who were allowed to enroll in college [for graduate studies] I do not qualify.

Immediately began to track this development. I went and I met Sandiest Noorbakhsh again. He expressed regret for my disqualification and said it was based on an article of the rules of admission which states: "The candidate who is an enemy of the state is not qualified." That's all he said, and he asked me to keep it secret for a few months and make no noise. Again promised to resolve the issue.

They said it was the decision of the Ministry of Intelligence disqualify me, despite my academic record. Interestingly, Noorbakhsh explicitly told me: "When the Ministry of Intelligence is involved, there is nothing I can do."
