In Uzbekistan, an Uzbek female student on vacation from studies in Germany has committed suicide after four days of police questioning. In Turkey, 22 28 young leftists detained for six months by accusations of terrorist links have been released after a court rejected the accusations against him. Professor Nasser bin Gaither University of Sorbonne Abu Dhabi, along with four others detained for eight months for signing a petition in favor of reform in line, has been released after a presidential pardon. The suicide of the student after the police interrogation: UZBEKISTAN

Uzbek Gulsumoi Abdujalilova student committed suicide after being interrogated for four days by the local authorities in the Uzbek city of Andirons western, Radio Free Europe reported on 6 December.


Abdujalilova, who studied in Germany, was home on vacation when he was quoted by local police and interrogated for four days in early December.

On December 4, committed suicide ingesting a large quantity of pills.

According to Yelena Urlayeva, who chairs the Human Rights Alliance of Uzbekistan NGO Abdujalilova was physically mistreated during their detention.

She was also forced to write a false statement against the leader of the opposition Movement of the people of Uzbekistan (OHH), Muhammad Salix, who currently lives in exile.

In a suicide note, Abdujalilova wrote: "They tried to make me kill some opposition activists, but it's better if I'm dying to take the life of another person."

According OHH, who through their website to express their condolences to the family of the student, Abdujalilova never been part of the opposition movement.

No details were given for Abdujalilova being summoned by the police, and the authorities were not available for comment on the case.

TURKEY: Court rejects accusations students released

Twenty young people, mostly students, were released by a court in Ankara after spending months in prison on charges of links with terrorist organizations, Harriet reported on December 10.

The trial against 28 youths left opened to the main courthouse in Ankara on 09 December. At least 3,000 people, including academics, activists and lawmakers from the Republican Party and the Peace and Democracy Party, gathered outside the court to support the accused.
